Photography matters.

Why does portrait photography matter? In our fast-paced world where moments fly by at the speed of a swipe, photographs stop time, freezing emotions, stories, and memories in a single frame. Photography is not just about snapping pictures; it's about capturing the essence of our lives.

Photographs preserve fleeting moments. We look at an image and are transported back to the miracle of pregnancy, the sight of oh-so-tiny newborn fingers and toes, cherished time spent with loved ones, and the many moments we spent watching our family grow. Once gone, these times in our lives can never be replicated. Yet, with the click of a shutter, we can preserve them forever. Each image we take holds a piece of our story, waiting to be shared and cherished.

Photography is the gift that keeps on giving. Many years ago when my now grown son was about a year old, our family had a portrait session with Joyce Tenneson, a photographer who’s work is a great inspiration for me. I don’t remember much from that day and I know my son would never remember but my hope is that the images from that day will give my son a sense of who his parents were, who he was and that we were a family.

Photography anchors us to our roots, reminding us of where we've been and how far we've come. Photography enriches our lives in ways both profound and personal. It's a testament to our human experience and a visual diary of our journey through life. We should never underestimate the power of a photograph. Because when it comes right down to it, some moments are simply too precious to let slip away.

Let’s make some memories together.
