Every Dog Deserves a Second Chance.

The last time Janet, of Second Chance Rescue in Bethel, CT, was in for a photoshoot with the handsome Pitbull, Buck, she offhandedly said, “I keep saying I’m not going to take in any more dogs.” But then there was Ferris. Ferris was living in North Carolina and had been hit by a car. Before Janet brought him up to Connecticut, Ferris had surgery to remove his left front leg. I was scheduled to photograph him today.

Sadly, our photoshoot was postponed because Ferris had to be taken to the emergency vet for more surgery to fix the effects of the first operation and to deal with a resulting infection.

It looks positive for his recovery and Janet is hopeful. But she is facing an $8000 vet bill. Did I mention that she runs a very small rescue?

When I offered to write about Ferris in my weekly blog post, she thanked me and said, “Oh, tears of gratitude for your offer. Most of the time I’m doing all of this alone.”

Prayers are going out to the universe for Ferris, who is having his second surgery as I write this. You can find out more about Janet and her Second Chance Rescue here: https://secondchanceanimalrescuect.org

Keep an eye on my page for photos of Ferris once he’s on the mend and ready to be adopted.

Let’s let Janet know she is not doing this alone.
